The user running UMS is usually the user you use when you log in. If you have a "pro" or better version, you will have permissions available under the "security" tab. To change them, you have to reboot to "safe mode" and do it, and then reboot back to "normal mode". Microsoft has determined that home users don't need to manage their permissions, so setting file and folder permissions aren't available. Press Windows key + R Type: wsreset.exe Hit Enter Do this a couple times then try launching the Store again. Also check if the Store works in another user account. If you're running any of the "home" versions of Windows, you're out of luck for an easy fix. Open Start > Settings > Update & security > Troubleshoot Scroll down to the bottom Click Windows Store Apps Click Run the troubleshooter When complete try opening the Store again. Either fix the permissions manually (right click folder -> properties -> security and make sure that the user running UMS has write permission), or delete/rename the folder and reinstall UMS so that the installer can recreate the folder. the shutdown functionality, it doesnt work anymore with windows 10 and ums-xml or ps3server. I see two possible ways to fix those permissions. 2) Remove the broken plugins, leaving an empty plugins tab. I'm pretty sure there are some permission problems with the folder. There has to be something wrong with this folder. This folder is created and given write permissions by the UMS installer if it doesn't exist. That will open the correct folder if it exists.
